Bluetooth AM Transmitter
The majority of the Antique Radios manufactured in the 20s thru the 40s received only the AM Broadcast band
and or Short wave band. Today Talk and Sports dominate these bands. Owning a US made Vintage radio should
be more than an antique just setting in your room. It should be played. The Bluetooth AM transmitter enables both
bluetooth and standard 3.5 mm music sources (mp3, ipods,CD players) to be heard on your vintage radio.
The Bluetooth AM transmitter is an upgrade to the original Portable AM transmitter.

Version 8.0 has eliminated the batteries. The unit is powered through a 12 volt wall unit. The volume control has been eliminated. The volume is controlled by the music source; MP3 player(CD, etc) or bluetooth device (smart phone, PC,)
The toggle switch on the right is a mux switch which allows selection of the music source

VERSION 10.1 similar to version 10. . The new version has increased the broadcast distance >50 ft allowing several radios to receive the audio signal. The Load control is identical to Ver10 to improve antenna length to broadcast frequency efficiency. An internal isolation transformer allows one wall power unit to be used on Ver10.1.

VERSION 10.1
Band Knob position determines the frequency range of the Tune Knob.
Band Knob-------------Frequency range
full CC------------------530 to 760 KHz
center-------------------630 to 1100 KHz
full CW------------------910 to 1520 KHz

Load Knob position sets the best match between the antenna length chosen to the selected frequency. With an antenna length of 12ft the following table shows the selected frequency range with the best match
Frequency--------------Load Knob
 650 KHz----------------full CC
> 850 KHz-------------center
>1320 KHz-------------full CW
The best loading is determined empirically by the quality (low back ground noise) of the audio at 50 ft.

Lower frequencies less than 850 KHz with a short antenna of 4 ft are more sensitive to the Load position knob.

Antennas < 3 ft work poorly on most frequencies and load positions
Back Side Connections for VERSION 10.1
Connect the antenna wire supplied.
Wire should be vertical for best performance
Find a quiet location on your radio.(630 KHz to 1100 KHz)
Set both power switches up.
Set Mux switch up for Bluetooth or Dwn for external audio (mp3 , CD)
Set the Band Knob to center for this example setup.
Set the Load Knob full CC
Rotate the Tune knob until the audio is heard on the radio.
Adjust the radio tuner to get closer to the transmitter frequency
The audio level is controlled by the Bluetooth music source or the MP 3 device.
Distortion of the audio is caused by too much volume by the music device.
Pairing the BTAM Xmitter with your Device
1) When the BTAM is powered (Bluetooth power switch on) it is searching to connect or pair with a bluetooth device

2) Turn on your bluetooth device and enable its search mode,

3) Keep the distance short during this operation.

4) Your bluetooth device should find "POR 1007BT" that is the generic name of the chip inside the BTAM. Several devices pair automatically others will require a four digit code "0000" to complete the pair.

5) If you have paired your PC device or another device and its active and you want to pair another device, you need to disable the bluetooth mode of the previous paired device to allow the new device to pair.

6) If the BTAM does not receive a bluetooth signal for awhile the internal chip will power down and the blinking blue light will turn off. The radio transmitter is still active.

7)To restart the BTAM after a automatic shut down, turn off the the bluetooth switch for a few seconds and then turn it back on. The blinking light will be enabled and begin searching.

8) Your Bluetooth or MP 3 device controls the amount of audio amplitude your radio will receive. If this volume is too high the BTAM transmitter will garble the audio to the radio.
